Isn't it fun getting to know someone by receiving and sending e-mails? Isn't it great when you discover all the things you have in common, and all your differences?
Are you already in touch with new friends or is this the first time you've
thought about it?
Write and tell me all about your e-mail pals experiences, one on one.
If you'd like to become an e-mail pen-pal, send me your details and I'll put them on this page.
Here is someone who is hoping to get back in contact with an old friend but would
also like to get to know you today:
Cymberly Clouse, 13, living aboard 'Evergreen' would like to get in touch with her friend Calen aboard 'Tapestry'. If you know Calen or you meet the yacht 'Tapestry' in your travels, please give him
our e-mail address and tell him she'd love to hear from him. If he sends us
an e-mail, we'll forward it to Cymberly.
If, like her, you're a
traveling teenager, Cymberly would enjoy hearing from you too.
If you'd like to get to know some new people, drop us an
e-mail NOW!
Just one thing, though...if you get any mail from weirdo's, you
know, like older guys pretending to be young ones or someone trying to get you
to sneak out and meet them without your parents knowing, don't be an idiot.
Don't take stupid risks with strangers.
A person you have chatted to by e-mail
is still a stranger, however much you have talked. It is easy for some people to
say what they think you want to hear. People are not always sincere and I know we like to think
we can handle anything but, hey, who wants to have to? Anybody who doesn't want
you to tell your parents or whoever is responsible for you about them is definitely
NOT
O.K.
Keeping that kind of secret isn't being 'grown-up' - it's being foolhardy.
If you don't want to get involved in reporting anyone like that who contacts
you yourself, because you think it might get you into trouble, you can e-mail
the person's contact details to us if you want, and we will pass them on
to the appropriate authority. Shame to have to even mention it. Life may be
great but it isn't perfect!
