Lane is our naval museum and exhibition page, we hope to
bring you links to useful museum websites and other sources of nautical
historical knowledge. If you are aware of any, you might like to help by
e-mailing us with details...
Nelson's Column:
Are you a naval history buff? We're
great admirers of several historical figures, one in particular. In an
effort to counteract the
trend in the British educational curriculum to discard British heroes
like Nelson in favour of obscure chieftains of other nations, we are
launching this page. Our
boat is a floating library of books relating the life and actions of
Horatio Nelson. His portraits adorn our bulkheads and he and Emma
Hamilton preside over our saloon and the aft cabin.
Treasure
Chest: If you collect anything from Scrimshaw to ships in bottles, models, half-models,
anything nautical at all, you are invited to tell us all about it on this page where you may also find other collectors looking to
trade in
naval and other artifacts.
We would love to hear about your naval
heroes and their lives. We will gladly start pages on any
nautical hero of any country you care to supply information about.
We'd love to hear from anyone with an interest in naval history -
don't wait for someone else to write - break the ice! In future issues
we will be glad to start any other page your contributions may
suggest.
